Switzer Park Playground in Overland Park is tucked away in a quiet alcove just around the corner from Deanna Rose Farmstead. To find it, take the road directly in front of the farmstead (between the entrance and parking lot) and follow it to the left. The playground features a large parking lot, plenty of mature shade trees, a covered picnic area, and multiple benches. There are two large play structures side by side with a swing set in between, offering lots to explore, even if the design isn’t especially unique. There are no bathrooms on-site, but a sign points to public restrooms at the Deanna Rose entrance just 200 feet away. This playground isn’t designed with toddlers in mind, but the equipment backs up to a beautiful tree line that makes it a pleasant, shaded spot to hang out for a while.
