Mill Creek Park in downtown Olathe is an eleborate super fun park with two separate playground areas 200 ft apart connected by a scenic pedestrian bridge over Mill Creek. Each playground offers something different: one features a tall twisty slide and swings for older kids, while the other has a rock climbing structure and turf surfacing that’s great for climbing and imaginative play. Though there’s only light natural shade from a few nearby trees, a covered picnic shelter with tables sits right next to the playground. Restrooms are available on-site, and parking is easy thanks to a dedicated lot.
The park also includes a tennis and pickleball court, plus a short 7-minute loop walking trail that winds through the park. For those wanting to extend their visit, the Mill Creek Trail part of the longer Gary L. Haller Trail passes through the park, connecting to nearby destinations like the Olathe Downtown Library just a 5-minute walk away.
